인도와의 영토 분쟁이 끊이지 않는 파키스탄의 지명과 같은 이름의 이 곡은 75년 앨범 Physical Graffiti' 에 수록된 Led Zeppelin의 대표곡 중 하나로 'Rock'의 기본 개념을 살짝 벗어나서, 북아프리카, 중동 멜로디가 살짝 섞인데다가, 오케스트라와의 협연, 4/4박자 드럼 비트에 3/4박자처럼 연주되는 기타리프 등등, 여러가지 독특한 점들이 많은 곡입니다.

이 비디오에서는 베이시스트 존 폴 존스가 잘 안 보이는군요. 이 곡에선 베이스대신 키보드를 연주.
그리고, 카메라맨이 열심히 촬영을 했으니, DVD로 발매되겠죠?
한편, Kashmir는 Hip Hop뮤지션 Puff Daddy씨와 지미 페이지 의해 리메이크되어 'Come with me'라는 곡으로 영화 Godzilla에 삽입되기도 하죠.

더구나 이곡의 기타 트랙은 Rage Against The Machine의 기타리스트였던 Tom Morello도 참여했다는군요.
그저그런 헐리웃 괴수영화의 삽입곡으로 쓰이기엔 참 아까운곡.
